DOGO News:
The Iconic Rubik's Cube Goes Hi-Tech!

With over 350 million cubes sold since it hit toy stores in 1974, the Rubik’s Cube is probably one of the world’s most popular toys ever. However, while the iconic cube has an avid fan base, which regularly compete to be the fastest, the brain teaser is daunting for most. It is, therefore, not surprising to hear that even though the toy has been on the market for over 44 years, less than 6 percent of the world’s population is able to solve it. Now, Israel-based startup Particula is introducing GoCube, a hi-tech version of the classic toy that promises to make the puzzle fun and interactive for both beginners and experts.
Udi Dor, Particula’s CEO & founder, first thought of the idea in 2016 when he was out with some friends, one of whom was playing with a Rubik’s Cube. The group talked about how much more fun the challenge would be if players could compete against each other online. After an extensive search revealed no multiplayer version of the iconic toy, the engineer decided to take on the challenge of creating one himself.

DOGO News:
Adorable Giant Panda Bei Bei Enjoys A Snow Day

The severe winter storm that pummeled parts of Washington, D.C. with as much as six inches of snow on February 20, 2019 had most residents scrambling for the safety and warmth of their homes. However, Smithsonian's National Zoo's giant panda Bei Bei was not among them. The adorable three-year-old had the time of his life playing in the mounds of fresh powder that helped Washington, D.C. retain its stature as the snowiest major city on the US East Coast this year.
In the video released by the zoo's officials, the endearing giant panda is seen rolling in the snow, climbing on trees, and leaping off branches. His mother, 20-year-old Mei Xang, kept a watchful eye on her juvenile son while snacking on some delicious bamboo. Though father Tian Tian was nowhere to be found, it was he who first exposed a reluctant Bei Bei to snow in January 2016, when the giant panda was just six months old.

ATN:  Is the World Running Out of Water?

From Cape Town’s water shortages to California’s historic drought– headlines can make it seem like the world is drying out. So what’s going on: is Earth really running out of water?
Recent news about Cape Town’s water shortages has brought water to the front and center of many people’s minds. And for those of us that have access to clean water on a daily basis we probably don’t think all that much about it. But water is essential to human survival. We drink it, we grow our crops with it, we bathe with and it’s used in many industrial processes like manufacturing and power generation. And as our population grows, the demand for water will increase–and lack of usable water will become a real issue for lots of places.

DOGO News:  Virgin Galactic Carries Its First "Tourist" To Space

Virgin Galactic's founder, Sir Richard Branson, has been hoping to make space tourism a reality since 2008. While it has taken a little longer than the 18 months he had originally estimated, the company is getting increasingly closer to accomplishing its mission. On December 13, 2018, Virgin Galactic's suborbital spaceliner, VSS Unity, made history with the longest rocket-powered flight when it soared to the edge of space, 51.4 miles (82 km) above sea level. On February 22, 2019, the aircraft repeated the feat, this time with its first passenger – the company's astronaut trainer Beth Moses - on board.

National Monument in Kentucky Honors Black Civil War Troops

President Trump has designated the first national monument of his administration. The president upgraded the status of the 373-acre Camp Nelson. It is in central Kentucky. It is a significant site for African-American soldiers and refugees during the Civil War. That's according to Timothy Cama at The Hill.
“Today, the site is one of the best-preserved landscapes and archeological sites associated with United States Colored Troops recruitment and the refugee experiences of African American slaves seeking freedom during the Civil War,” the proclamation states. “Camp Nelson reminds us of the courage and determination possessed by formerly enslaved African Americans as they fought for their freedom.”

DOGO News:
NASA's DART Mission Will Test Our Planetary Defense Capabilities Against Asteroids

Experts estimate that Earth gets bombarded with thousands of pieces of cosmic debris each year. While most burn up in the atmosphere, a few hundred survive and hit the planet's surface annually. While the impact of the space rocks, which come hurtling down at rapid speeds, has thus far been minimal, the possibility of an asteroid landing in a densely populated area and causing severe damage cannot be ignored.
To protect our planet and its inhabitants, since 2016, NASA has been trying to come up with a way todeflect errant asteroids heading towards Earth. On February 13, 2019, the US space agency, in collaboration with scientists from the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, announced it was ready to test mankind's first-ever planetary defense system.

Tween Tribune:  How to Make an Authentic Civil War Valentine

The history of Valentine cards in North America owes a lot to Esther Howland. She popularized the cards when they were needed most. She made them popular during the Civil War.
Valentines were especially important during the Civil War. Loved ones were separated. They were many miles apart and feared they would never see each other again. That's according to Joan Itaska. She is a novelist who writes a long-running Civil War history blog.
Howland turned DIY cards into an industry and is sometimes called “The Mother of the Valentine.” Follow her advice to make your own sweet note.

Josh McDowell Devotions: Who's Right About Wrong?
Bible Reading: Genesis 3: 1-7
You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. John 8:32
“HEY, EVE,” said the serpent, his forked tongue flicking out of his mouth with every hiss. “Why haven’t you tried that luscious-looking fruit dangling on that tree in the middle of the Garden?”
“God said not to,” she answered. “Isn’t that obvious?”
The serpent frowned. “You can’t dine on any of these fruity trees, huh?”
Eve shook her head. “No, God said we can’t eat from that tree-can’t even touch it, he said, or we’ll die.”
“You won’t die,” the serpent hissed. “God doesn’t want you to eat that fruit because he knows it will make you like him. You’ll know right from wrong. And he has the gall to inflict his rules on you. That’s not right, Eve. You’ve got brains enough to decide for yourself whether the fruit is good or evil. You’ve got the right to make up your own mind about what’s good for you and what’s bad.”

Josh McDowell Devotions: Self-Appointed Judges
Bible Reading: Psalm 9:3-10
The Lord reigns forever, executing judgment from his throne. He will judge the world with justice and rule the nations with fairness. Psalm 9:7-8
IT FEELS SO WARM and cozy that you almost sweat when someone says that all people have the right to decide right and wrong for themselves. “Religion is a private thing,” they argue. “You shouldn’t be allowed to impose your idea of truth on someone else.”
This brand of tolerance has become so big in our culture that it pretty much defines what it means to be a good person. To take any other view is to be close minded, intolerant, and bigoted.
