TT:  False Stories Travel Way Faster than the Truth

Twitter loves lies. A new study finds that false information on the social media network travels six times faster than the truth. And reaches far more people.  And you can't blame bots. It's us, say the authors of a new study. It is the largest study of online misinformation...

DOGO News:  Yes, Your Dog Does Understand You!

Most dog owners are convinced that their four-legged friends know exactly what they mean when they use certain words like sit, stay, or treat. However, researchers have always wondered whether canines really understand human speech or if they rely on other clues to deduce the meaning. For example, does the word “fetch” conjure up an image of a stick or ball in the dog’s mind, or does the pooch retrieve the object based on cues such as the owner’s tone or gesture? A new study by scientists at Atlanta’s Emory University seems to indicate that “man’s best friend” is not faking it – he/she does indeed know what the owner is saying.

TT:  Whale Mail is the New Snail Mail at the World's First Underwater Post Office

Vira Timbaci’s post office job is similar to that of many postal workers around the world. But, there is one minor difference. One of the mailboxes he manages is underwater.

It is located about 160 feet off the coast of Vanuatu. It is an island nation located about 1,000 miles east of northern Australia. The mailbox and converted fiberglass water tank are submerged ten feet beneath the surface of Mele Bay. It is a body of water that feeds into the South Pacific Ocean...

DOGO News:  First Alien Moon Detected Outside Our Solar System May Be As Large As Neptune

Over the last couple of decades, astronomers have identified thousands of planets outside our solar system. However, they have been unable to find confirmation of a moon revolving around any of the distant worlds, mainly because the generally smaller satellites are harder to spot. Now, some researchers from Columbia University believe they have found evidence of an alien moon orbiting a gaseous exoplanet which, lies almost 8,000 light years away.

TKSST:  The Titicaca Water Frog’s Baggy Skin
At Lake Titicaca, the largest lake in South America and the highest large lake in the world, there’s less oxygen available in the air and water. This is where the Titicaca water frog (Telmatobius culeus) lives. It has adapted to the high altitude with the help of baggy skin folds that absorb the oxygen it needs...

Josh McDowell Devotions: Chip and Dale

Bible Reading: Romans 12:9-10
Take delight in honoring each other.   Romans 12:10

CHIP AND DALE are two cartoon chipmunks.
They’re cute, lovable little fellows. They giggle. They scamper. They get into trouble. They get mad at each other. They make up. They’re the best of friends.
When you notice how they sometimes behave toward each other, you know why they seem so close.
Have you ever seen them enter a doorway? Chip will stand aside and say something like, “After you.”
Dale will smile and answer, “Oh no, I insist. You first.”
“Oh no no no no no,” Chip will say with a dramatic bow. “You first.”
And so it goes, each one seeming to take delight in honoring the other.

Josh McDowell Devotions: The Traveler and the Monks

Bible Reading: Matthew 5:14-16

Be careful how you live among your unbelieving neighbors. Even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will believe and give honor to God.   1 Peter 2:12

THE STORY IS told of a mysterious traveler who once visited an old, run-down monastery. At one time the monastery had thrived; it was known for the devotion of its monks. Young men came from far and wide to join the monastery.
At the time of the traveler’s visit, however, all that had changed. Only a handful of monks remained, and they could hardly stand each other. The once-spotless buildings had begun to fall down, and the worship of the monks was uninspired.

Bible Reading: Romans 8:5-14
But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you.   Romans 8:9

A GLOVE IS a wonderful thing. You’ve probably never thought much about it, but a glove can perform all kinds of tasks. It can turn a doorknob or roll down a car window. It can wave good-bye to a friend or applaud a dazzling football play. It can pat someone on the back or smack someone in the face. It can point. It can give a “thumbs up” sign.
“Wait a minute,” you say. “Time out! A glove can’t do all that; it’s the hand inside the glove that does all those things.”

DOGO NEWS:  Stunning Rare Dumbo Octopus Spotted Off California Coast
This year’s Halloween experience was elevated by several spooky surprises from nature. First, there was news of the “Death Comet’s” November 11 Earth flyby. Then, on October 23, 2018, scientists aboard the E/V Nautilus stumbled upon a white octopus with translucent “wings” that looked more like a ghost from outer space than the eight-legged mollusks we are accustomed to seeing.
