Protecting Vulnerable Users On Instagram
Written by Erin McCowey

With a few weeks of the back to school season under our belts, it is easier to step back and examine our daily routines. Are our children making it to school on time? Are they eating a balanced diet? Are they spending too much time online? Are those interactions healthy? It can be difficult to answer those questions yourself, so it is helpful to include your teen in this conversation. Ask them their honest opinion about tech use and to reflect on their experiences thus far. If either of you notice there has been too much screen time, know that platforms continue to roll out features to help families carefully curate their online experience. "How is summer already over? It seems that it’s only just begun. The reality is the kids will be back to middle and high school before the last sip of summer is had. And with the new year, there are often new challenges. As many say, “Little kids, little problems. Big kids, big problems.” But mental health issues that are diagnosed and treated early have the best prognosis and do not have to become “big problems.” As our children grow into tweens and teens, there is a new landscape to understand. As parents, it is crucial to tend to your child’s mental health just as you do their physical health..."

What Is Video Game Addiction?

What exactly distinguishes video game addiction from normal video game use? According to the World Health Organization (WHO), a video game addiction or gaming disorder is defined as gaming patterns that involve a lack of impulse control and continuance of gaming despite dire consequences on mental, physical or emotional health.
