Easy At Home Service Project

Bethesda Lutheran Communities is safe and sound in residential service locations and following all guidelines given by the CDC.

Bethesda could use your help to add cheer and encouragement in the midst of uncertainty. Bethesda in Colorado currently supports roughly 250 adult individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Please consider sending a written note or greeting card to be shared with a Bethesda Direct Support Professional (care staff) or a Person we Support.

• DO NOT GO OUT TO PURCHASE A CARD
• Use what you have available to you
• It could be fun to get a Valentine or Christmas card in the midst of this crazy time
• Include a Bible verse and encouraging words
• Make a card or draw a picture
• Get children involved
• Whatever is sent will be appreciated

Bethesda Regional Offices will share cards with people supported and Direct Support Professionals. Please invite others to join us as well.

Print Circles With Found Objects to Reinforce Shapes

Toddler-friendly art exploration may be messy, but it's also a lot of fun. For this activity, start by reading a picture book with your child that features lots of circles in it. Then, have your child help you collect round objects from your recycling bin or around the house.

Connections Academy:  Holiday Marbled Paper

Children get the chance to express their creativity with this fun paper craft idea for making marbled paper with shaving cream and food coloring. Use the holiday marbled paper as stationary and take the opportunity to teach your student proper letter-writing etiquette. Re-purpose for other seasonal holidays by using different colors.

Learn the character histories of the Peanuts Gang
OR read some comic strips
OR go to the Charles M. Schulz Museum for a completely different experience.

This could be a rainy day site or possibly a research site for older students!
