Teachers, this is just a place for me to put things that I find interesting or important!  As I get older, I need a place to put things so I can go back and remember what I did or what I need to do.  You are certainly are welcome to visit any time!

Why a Rubric Isn't Enough
"My colleagues convinced me that these behaviors represented neither what my students knew nor how smart they were. Kids may fool around, but when they cannot produce anything for assignments that they know will impact their grade, there must be something else going on that I’m missing."
Edutopia Article - William Juang April 16, 2018
Note:  I realize this is not a "tech" article, but I found it relevant for my classroom.

As a teacher myself, I never found rubrics to be a very accurate tool for measuring my students. I find it weird that you a certain factor will only be a certain percent. That cannot always be true when gauging students. What they show in their work and/or performance would be better taken under consideration of the teacher. Like if the student did really well, or even way beyond expectation in a certain criteria, but in other criteria did not, there should be commendation for the deed. It is really the teacher’s intuition that should be followed whenever he or she thinks that the student passed.

This is not enough. That is not enough. All the reviews I read always say the same things. It's not enough that you only have this, you need to also employ or purchase this and that for your current set up to function at its optimum level and if there is one advice I can give anyone, you need to listen to these recommendations to avoid problems in the future. They are not saying these things just for the sake of having something to say. It's actually based on research.
